About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard is situated at Località Il Poggiolo in Montalcino, at 450 metres above sea level. It faces south-east and has sandy-loam soil marked by limestone plates and abundant coarse material.
Grapes
Sangiovese Grosso.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for approximately 15–20 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for six months in second-use French oak barrels, followed by six months of bottle ageing.
Technical data
Rosso di Montalcino DOC. Alcohol: 13–14%.
Tasting profile
An intense ruby-red wine with a pronounced fruit-led aroma, showing raspberry alongside vanilla and wildflowers. The palate is soft and mineral, with good structure and balanced tannins.
