About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Giacosa area in the municipality of Treiso. The vineyard lies at 400–420 metres above sea level with a south-western exposure. Its shallow soils are rich in clay and limestone, with dense marl beneath the topsoil. The vines are 65 years old on average.
Vinification
Harvest timing varies according to the weather, but picking usually occurs between 25 September and 15 October. Fermentation lasts two weeks in French oak barrels, followed by two months of maceration.
Ageing
The wine matures for 24 months in French oak barrels, followed by 12 months in the winery’s cellars after bottling.
