About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from the Bordini vineyard in Neive (Cn), an 11-acre site at 240 m above sea level with a south-eastern exposure. The vines average 40 years of age. Calcareous marl containing light-coloured sand forms the soil.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

For the 2022 vintage, maceration and alcoholic fermentation took place in temperature-controlled vats for approximately 10 days. Malolactic fermentation was completed in second-use French oak barrels.

Ageing

The 2022 remained in second-use French oak for 18 months, followed by approximately eight months in bottle. The general production description gives a minimum of nine months in oak and subsequent bottle refinement.

Technical data

The 2022 has 14.5% alcohol and total acidity of 5 g/L. Available formats are 375 ml, 750 ml and magnum. Average production is 13,000 bottles.

Tasting profile

The 2022 is light ruby red. Its refined bouquet combines fresh cherry and violet with a subtle accent of sweet spice. The palate is complex and structured, bringing together fruit and delicate balsamic nuances. Smooth, integrated tannins lead into a long, elegant finish. The broader profile emphasizes fresh raspberry and rose aromas, delicate red-fruit flavours, fine tannins and an elegant, aromatic character.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 16–17 °C in a Burgundy glass.
