About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from hillside vineyards in Roverè della Luna. Vines are trained partly on the simple Trentino pergola and partly by Guyot, on sandy-loam soils.
Grapes
100% Pinot Grigio. The variety has small, short, compact and winged bunches with slightly elliptical grey-violet berries and juicy, sweet pulp.
Vinification
The must remains in contact with the skins for two days, reviving the local practice of extended skin contact in white-grape vinification. Fermentation then proceeds with selected yeasts at controlled temperature. Skin contact gives the wine its characteristic bright copper hue and contributes to its intense, fruity and lightly aromatic character.
Ageing
Maturation takes place in stainless steel.
Tasting profile
Copper to onion-skin in colour. The fine, delicate bouquet is both fruity and floral, moving from white acacia blossom to ripe pear and tropical-fruit tones. The palate is dry, savoury, rounded, harmonious and full of character, with balanced structure and a smooth, appealing texture.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12°C and open at the time of service. Pair with pasta or dry soups in substantial sauces, egg-based dishes, boiled poultry, cold cuts and light cheeses. Best enjoyed during its first year.
Label / history
Also identified in the technical sheet as “Ruländer” Ramato, the wine recalls an older regional approach in which juice from white grape varieties remained in extended contact with the skins.
