About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the estate’s vineyards in Valtellina, where steep mountain slopes have been converted into terraces supported by dry-stone walls over centuries. Together, these walls extend for approximately 2,500 km. The area has a Mediterranean climate.
Grapes
Nebbiolo is known locally as Chiavennasca.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and fermented in modern steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures in a 10,400-litre wooden cask numbered 029.
Label / history
The number of the ageing cask inspired the label design.
