About this wine
Grapes
Negroamaro accounts for at least 75% of the blend; the remainder consists of other traditional red grape varieties.
Vinification
The must is vinified in stainless-steel tanks for 15 days. After maturation, the wine is filtered and bottled.
Ageing
The wine matures for 24 months, including at least six months in barrels made from different types of wood.
Label / history
The 2012 and 2013 vintages received silver medals at Mundus Vini. In 2010, Felice Mergè followed the experience of his father, Armando, by purchasing and renovating the former Municipal Cooperative of Erchie Producers, which had operated since 1949. He renamed the property Masca del Tacco, installed modern machinery and introduced production methods intended to preserve traditional character while improving quality. The acquisition also expanded Poggio Le Volpi’s vineyards in Veglie and Torricella.
