Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from a 5 ha vineyard planted at an average altitude of 280 m above sea level. The soils consist of galestro and alberese—marl and limestone—and the planting density is 5,600 vines per hectare. The vines are Guyot-trained. Production is listed as 15 hl, with availability of 20,000 bottles.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese grosso.

Vinification

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrel.

Ageing

The wine matures for one year in French-oak tonneaux and then for three years in large French-oak barrels.
