About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Sauvignon Blanc comes from a small parcel of approximately 7,000 m², described more generally as smaller than one hectare. The wine takes its name from the old Lebanese cedars growing in the grounds of Villa Pattono, opposite the vineyards.

Grapes

100% Sauvignon Blanc. Harvest takes place in September.

Vinification

The grapes undergo very gentle pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation.

Ageing

The wine matures sur lie for more than one year in stainless-steel tanks, with bâtonnage, followed by additional bottle ageing.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow with green highlights. The aromatic profile is intense, combining white peach, grapefruit and tomato leaf. The palate is full, savoury and medium-bodied, with a broad aromatic range. Bottle development can bring out pleasant mineral nuances.

Serving and pairing

Suitable with starters, first courses, fish and white meats.

Label / history

First produced in 2002, I Cedri was Ratti’s first white wine. Its name refers to the old Lebanese cedar trees in the grounds of Villa Pattono.

The historic “soldier” label was created by Renato Ratti and recalls the Piedmontese regiments that defended their region during the Napoleonic period around 1800. The wine is presented in the Albeisa bottle, named after Alba and created by Renato Ratti in 1973 to identify the territory and its wines.
