About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from a parcel in a vineyard purchased in 2019 near the highest part of La Morra. Nebbiolo grows at almost 500 m above sea level, with southern exposure and a view toward the Piedmontese Alps. The parcel was selected to produce a complex, long-lived Langhe Nebbiolo named Reggimento.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo. Langhe DOC Nebbiolo.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand in October, then destemmed and pressed. Skin contact lasts approximately three to four weeks, encompassing alcoholic fermentation and the subsequent post-fermentation maceration. The traditional submerged-cap method is used. Malolactic fermentation takes place in steel containers.

Tasting profile

Pale ruby red. The fragrance is fine and persistent, with delicate suggestions of violets and roses. The palate is full and spicy.

Serving and pairing

Suited to spit-roasted and grilled red meats, game, truffled fondue, agnolotti, and Italian dishes prepared with white or red meats, including those served with spiced sauces.

Label / history

Renato Ratti created the historic “soldier” label in remembrance of the Piedmontese regiments that defended their region during the Napoleonic period around 1800. The wine is presented in the Albeisa bottle, named after Alba and created by Renato Ratti in 1973 to identify the territory and its wines.
