About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are sourced from elsewhere on the island of Sardinia because Cannonau is not grown on Sant'Antioco. The vines have an average age of 20 years.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at the very end of September. They undergo 8–10 days of skin maceration at a controlled temperature, followed by fermentation in steel vats and malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine rests in bottle for several months.
Tasting profile
Rich and complex, with an elegant aroma of berries and spice. The palate is warm and finely structured.
Label / history
In Sardinian dialect, “Foras” means “foreigner” or “someone who comes from elsewhere,” referring to the grapes arriving from another part of Sardinia.
