About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on southeast-facing hillsides in Taburno, at 350 m above sea level, on clay-limestone marl soils. The wider area has mild winters, regular rainfall from September to March, and warm, dry summers.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at full ripeness during the first ten days of November. After destemming and pressing, they undergo fermentation and 30 days of maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures in new oak barrels for at least 12 months.

The wine is aromatic.

Label / history
Cantina del Taburno is located on the slopes of Mount Taburno and belongs to Consorzio Agrario di Benevento, founded in 1901. Its winery was built in Foglianise in 1972. Luigi Moio of the University of Naples became responsible for the estate’s winemaking in 1999.
