About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from biodynamically farmed vineyards. The estate has 25 hectares of vineyards on both sides of the historic Claudia Augusta road. Its fertile soils are predominantly clay and rich in mineral salts, while the nearby Piave River influences vineyards along its banks.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness, carefully sorted and gently pressed. After cold settling, the juice undergoes temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. Secondary fermentation takes place in autoclaves by the Charmat method for about one month. Before bottling, the wine is filtered and decanted under isobaric conditions.
Label / history
The name 47 Anno Domini refers to 47 AD, the year in which Emperor Claudius completed the Claudia Augusta, an important Roman road that now runs through the winery.
