About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from certified organic vineyards (IT-BIO-017) in the provinces of Treviso, Padua, Belluno, Venice, Vicenza, Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste and Udine, across Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The vines grow in fertile clay soils rich in mineral salts, which contribute to the wine’s character.

Grapes

Glera is the principal component of the blend, complemented by Pinot Nero. The varieties are vinified separately.

Vinification

The Glera is harvested at ideal ripeness to preserve acidity and freshness. After destemming and gentle pressing, the juice is cold-settled and clarified by flotation. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 16–18 °C; the resulting wine is then cooled to 8–12 °C.

The Pinot Nero is also harvested at ideal ripeness, destemmed and pressed. It ferments on the skins at 25 °C, with pumping over and délestage every three days. The two base wines are blended before secondary fermentation with selected yeasts in steel pressure tanks for 60 days. The wine is filtered before bottling and transferred isobarically.

Tasting profile

Elegant and fresh, with fruit and floral aromas that continue onto the palate.

Serving and pairing

It can be used as an ingredient in an Aperol Spritz.

Label / history

The bottle is shaped to resemble a cut diamond. The wine holds European certification from The Vegan Society and is suitable for vegans.

It received a gold medal at the 2021 Berliner Wein Trophy, a silver medal at the 2021 China Wine Competition, and bronze medals at the 2022 Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, the 2021 International Wine Challenge and the 2021 Decanter World Wine Awards.

The name 47 Anno Domini refers to 47 AD, the year in which Emperor Claudius completed the Roman road Claudia Augusta. The winery’s 25 hectares of vineyards lie on both sides of this historic road. The winery belongs to the Tombacco group, which has made wine for 100 years.
