About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Montepulciano is grown in the provinces of Teramo and Chieti in Abruzzo. The vines are trained in the "tendone" style, forming pergola-like canopies.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in late September and early October. They macerate for 10 days. Fermentation and the subsequent malolactic fermentation take place in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

Ageing is in two stages: 4 months in stainless-steel tanks, then some additional time in bottle in the winery's cellar.

Tasting profile

A young, fruity wine, very approachable, smooth and fresh.

Serving and pairing

Pairs well with a wide range of dishes. The text names no specific dishes.

Label / history

"Podere" is made for everyday enjoyment. Umani Ronchi was founded in 1950, when Gino Umani Ronchi bought a large plot of land in the low hills of Marche near Cupramontana.
