About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown around Atri on rich clay-limestone soils. Gentle hills descend from the ancient town, and the vineyards are influenced by a maritime microclimate. The vines are Guyot-trained.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in mid-October and macerated for 22 days. Fermentation then takes place for 22 days in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in new French oak barrels and a further 4–6 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Full in flavour and elegant in style.
Label / history
Medoro is a small village near Atri, among the Teramo hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The Medoro family has made wine there since the early 1970s. In 1997, Federico, the family's third generation, began a new phase at Villa Medoro. The family owns 92 hectares of vineyards, and the estate produces 300,000 bottles annually.
