About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow around Atri in Abruzzo, in vineyards with clay and limestone soils. The vines are trained using the Guyot system.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested from late September to early October. Before fermentation, they undergo cold maceration for 8–10 hours at 5–6 °C. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 14–16 °C. Malolactic fermentation is avoided.
Ageing
The wine ages for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Clean and notably fresh, with good structure, citrus notes and a Mediterranean character.
Label / history
Medoro is a small village near Atri, close to the hills of Teramo overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The Medoro family has made wine there since the early 1970s, and Villa Medoro began a new chapter in 1997 under Federico, the third generation of the family. The family owns 92 hectares of vineyards, and the estate produces 300,000 bottles annually.
