Storia
The Morra family's winemaking story began in the mid-20th century with a single plot of land at Cascina Mosca, a farm where the story began and continues today. Diego Morra represents the third generation of the family. Today the family works 30 hectares of vineyards across the municipalities of Verduno, La Morra, and Roddi, as well as 20 hectares of hazelnut groves. The company logo features three intertwined "M"s, symbolizing the three generations and the family's identity, history, and land: the first "M" for the Monvigliero cru, where the family owns four hectares; the second "M" for the Morra family name; and the third "M" for Cascina Mosca.
Terroir
The estate's vineyards lie across the municipalities of Verduno, La Morra, and Roddi in the Langhe hills, which have been the family's home for many years. The Monvigliero cru, where the family owns four hectares, has dark grey marl soil that allows Nebbiolo to show its full character, giving the wines a classic aromatic profile and elegance.
Vinificazione
Farming follows the principles of integrated pest management, guiding how the family works with the land and its ecosystems in an effort to preserve biodiversity and balance in both the vineyards and the wines. No herbicides or pesticides are used; the focus is on genuine, honest farming.
The result of the family's farming and winemaking approach is a range of expressive, deep wines that remain approachable and easy to understand, described as the Morra family's greatest strength.
