Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on the slopes of Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano. The first vines there were planted in 1950. The vineyards have sandy soils rich in volcanic rock, which contribute a bright, mineral character.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo five to six days of skin maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks to retain freshness and elegance, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
Tasting profile
An aromatic wine with a feminine character, combining freshness and elegance with bright mineral notes.
Label / history
The name Erse refers to the Greek goddess of dew. It was inspired by the dew that forms on the grapes in the early morning, when the first sunlight reaches the nighttime clouds.
