Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay comes from one of Sicily’s oldest vineyards. Feudo Disisa’s approximately 150 ha of vineyards are divided among nine microzones with differing exposures, slopes and elevations. Temperature variations, abundant sunshine and good ventilation create distinct microclimates. The Chardonnay vines grow in clay soils and yield an average of 75 quintals per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place under temperature control at 15–16 °C.
Ageing
The wine ages in barriques for six months, followed by at least 120 days in the estate’s cellars after bottling.
Tasting profile
Delicate and elegant, with pronounced minerality, richness and a warm character.
