Terroir
The winery sits in a natural amphitheater formed by two vineyard-covered hills, Rabaja and Trifolera. The region's climate features hot summers and cold winters, providing conditions favorable for Nebbiolo, whose character changes from year to year with the weather. Nebbiolo performs best in a sunny climate at 150-400 meters above sea level, on the limestone and marl soils of the Barbaresco area.
Vinificazione
Nebbiolo tends to ripen late in the season and performs best in a sunny climate at 150-400 meters above sea level, on the limestone and marl soils of the Barbaresco area, where it develops its greatest aromatic complexity.
Giuseppe Cortese introduced the latest winemaking methods after taking over the winery and later renovated the winery itself.
Filosofia
The winery is run by people with deep knowledge of grape growing and winemaking, along with great respect for long-established traditions and expertise. Giuseppe Cortese became convinced of the bright future of Barbaresco wines and combined that conviction with respect for tradition.
