Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the “La Capanna,” “Le Corti di Sopra,” “L'Ortolino,” and “Parigi” vineyards around the old church in Monti. The vineyards were renewed by grafting clones from selected Sangiovese vines, which are trained using the cordon method. Refreshing sea breezes and well-drained soils containing sand and limestone contribute to the wine’s fine structure, silky texture and minerality.
Grapes
The blend comprises 95% Sangiovese, supplemented by Malvasia Nera.
Tasting profile
Ruby red, tending toward garnet with age. Berry and spice aromas lead to a powerful, intense but not overpowering palate, with layered fruit, balanced structure, rounded texture and velvety tannins. The wine is silky and mineral. When young, it is expressive and lively; with age, it becomes more refined as the tannins soften and the rich fruit aromas open up.
