Vineyard and terroir
Aluigi is a single-vineyard Sangiovese from Campo ai Peri at Le Cinciole. The vineyard lies at approximately 440 m, slightly below the estate’s highest sites, and has a south-eastern exposure. Its clay-limestone galestro schist rests on Pietraforte sandstone, with a comparatively pronounced clay component. Viticulture is organic.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese, selected exclusively from Campo ai Peri.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. After destemming and gentle crushing, the must is manually punched down and undergoes a long, slow maceration in cement vats. Fermentation is spontaneous, driven by indigenous yeasts.
Ageing
The wine matures for approximately 24 months in traditional 25 hl French-oak casks, followed by one year in cement tanks and a final 12 months in bottle.
Technical data
Average annual production is 5,000 bottles. Formats are 750 ml and 1,500 ml.
Tasting profile
A warm, rich expression of Sangiovese shaped around the classic character of Chianti Classico.
Label / history
Aluigi is dedicated to Luigi, whose support made Valeria and Luca’s life project possible.
