Storia
The Mansalto estate lies across the provinces of Arezzo and Siena. Many of its country houses were built on the ruins of buildings destroyed during conflicts between Siena and Arezzo. Local history also tells of earlier Templar and Etruscan settlements, and of an important trading hub linking the Maremma area with the coast.
Terroir
The estate is in the heart of Tuscany, across the provinces of Arezzo and Siena. The vineyards are spread over small plots surrounded by woods and fields, and each plot has its own soil:
- Clay soils: grapes give fruitier wines.
- The highest sites: a more floral character.
- Lighter, sandier soils: add minerality.
Vinificazione
Mansalto follows a minimal-intervention approach in the vineyard, allowing the natural process to take its course.
Mansalto follows a minimal-intervention approach in the cellar, allowing the natural process to take its course.
Filosofia
Mansalto describes a minimal-intervention approach in both vineyard and cellar, allowing the natural process to take its course. The estate describes an atmosphere in which past and present come together.
