Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from Tenuta Montenisa, around the hamlet of Calino in the heart of Franciacorta. Harvesting is entirely manual, with careful bunch selection. Small crates protect the berries from damage and the risk of premature fermentation.

Grapes

Pinot Noir, selected to emphasize the variety’s personality and intense, vibrant aromas.

Vinification

The grapes are immediately subjected to direct, gentle pressing with pneumatic presses. The first-press must is transferred to temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation. Secondary fermentation takes place in bottle.

Ageing

The wine remains in prolonged contact with its fine lees in bottle.

Technical data

Franciacorta DOCG Rosé; non-vintage; 12.5% alcohol by volume.

Tasting profile

Light onion-skin pink, with creamy foam and an elegant, persistent perlage. The nose is fragrant and clearly defined by Pinot Noir, complemented by delicate notes of dried wild flowers. The palate combines freshness with structure, achieving notable harmony and elegance.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 7–9 °C. Pair with shellfish, pigeon and white meat. Its versatility also accommodates berry-fruit desserts and moderately bitter chocolate.

Label / history

Tenuta Montenisa belonged to the Maggi counts during the twentieth century. Count Aymo Maggi was among the founders of the Mille Miglia automobile race, while Countess Camilla Maggi was known in Franciacorta for charitable and social initiatives.
