Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from Russiz Superiore in Capriva del Friuli, within the Collio DOC area. The hilly Eocene terrain alternates sandstone with loam rock containing limestone and clay. Its impermeable character allows rainfall to drain over the surface, limiting erosion and preventing stagnant water. The vines are Guyot trained.

Grapes

100% Ribolla Gialla. The variety has a history of almost a thousand years closely connected with the Collio.

Vinification

The grapes are picked entirely by hand at a late stage of ripeness. They macerate for one day at controlled temperature and are then pressed slowly. Fermentation takes place mainly in stainless steel. After the first three to four days, 20% of the total volume continues fermenting in 3 hL Slavonian oak barrels. Frequent bâtonnage keeps the solids suspended in both portions, contributing verticality and savoury character.

Technical data

The wine page reports approximately 13% alcohol, while the technical sheet reports approximately 13.5%. The available format is 0.75 L.

Tasting profile

Straw yellow with mature reflections. The wood-influenced bouquet ranges from tropical fruit to sharper notes of mandarin and citrus pulp, joined by spicy smoke, toasted nuts and rosemary. The palate retains freshness but centres on savoury, saline tones. The persistent finish develops chalk-like nuances shaped by the combination of tannin and acidity.
