Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the Russiz Superiore estate in Capriva del Friuli, within the Collio DOC production area. The hilly terrain originated during the Eocene period and consists of alternating sandstone and loam rock incorporating limestone and clay, materials that once formed part of the ocean floor. Its impermeable structure promotes surface runoff, limits erosion and prevents standing water. The vines are trained using the Guyot system.
Grapes
Sauvignon.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and destemmed. The must and pulp undergo cold maceration at controlled temperature, followed by gentle pressing that separates the juice from the skins. Approximately 15% of the must ferments in oak barrels, while the remaining 85% ferments in stainless-steel vats.
Ageing
The wine matures on its lees for eight months, followed by several additional months in bottle.
Technical data
Collio DOC. Available in 0.75 L and 1.5 L bottles. Alcohol is approximately 13.5% vol. in the technical sheet, while the wine page gives approximately 13% vol.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow with green highlights. The nose combines intense, elegant floral and vegetal notes, including sage, fresh pepper, acacia blossom and grapefruit. The palate is structured and rounded, balancing freshness with a distinctly sapid character.
