Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards in Oslavia and Capriva del Friuli within Collio DOC. The hilly terrain dates to the Eocene and consists of alternating sandstone and marl derived from limestone and clay. The impermeable soil promotes surface runoff, limiting both erosion and standing water. The vines are trained to Guyot.
Grapes
Ribolla Gialla.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and destemmed. The must and pulp undergo cold maceration, followed by gentle pressing to separate the juice from the skins. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
Approximately six months on the lees, followed by several months in bottle.
Technical data
Collio DOC. Bottle format: 0.75 l. Alcohol is approximately 12% on the wine page and approximately 13% in the technical sheet.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow. The fresh, elegant and intense bouquet combines floral notes with exotic fruit, grapefruit and apple. The palate is pleasant and balanced, with notable extractive body wrapped in excellent freshness.
Label / history
Roberto Felluga created the name Maralba as a dedication to his parents, Marco and Alba. It also acknowledges Alba’s role in encouraging Marco to believe in and invest increasingly in Ribolla Gialla, a variety she particularly loved.
