Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard lies on a gentle hillside in the Marcellise valley, 100 m above sea level. All the fruit is grown within the Valpolicella DOC area.
Grapes
The blend includes Corvina Gentile.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in September and dried naturally on wooden racks in a well-ventilated room until mid-December or early January. During drying, they lose around one-third of their weight, concentrating sugars and tannins. The dried grapes are then crushed and fermented with natural yeasts in stainless-steel tanks for 40–50 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for 36 months in 350 L Slavonian oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Complex, rich and generous, with a deeply layered flavour and notes of dried fruit and warm spices.
