Late 1880s: the beginning
The family's winemaking story began in the late 1880s, when Gualtiero Nunzi left a small village in the Tuscan mountains to seek his calling in Florence. He became very successful and was able to buy the family's first vineyard in the heart of Chianti Classico.
Today
Nunzi Conti is run by Gualtiero's son Maurizio, his grandchildren Antonio and Isabella, and the winemaker Giampaolo Chiettini. The original winery buildings have been restored, preserving the history of earlier generations.
Terroir
The Villa Barberino estate lies in one of the most scenic parts of Chianti Classico. The climate is mild and sunny, and grape growing has been a tradition in the area for many centuries.
Vinificazione
Nunzi Conti combines tradition with modern technology to produce wines and olive oil. The original winery buildings have been restored. Its products have received numerous awards and prizes at international competitions.
