Origins

The owners of Poggio al Moro have made Tuscan wine and olive oil on the estate for more than three centuries. The Chianciano area has been known for its rich farmland since ancient times.

Present day

For the past 10 years the estate has been run by Tania and Alex, supported by a young team brought together from around the world. All of the estate's products are sold under the Poggio del Moro name. The company has a new winery, a preserves facility and an olive mill, all with modern equipment. The estate also has a tasting room and a small shop.

The estate lies in the heart of Tuscany, among misty hills, south of Montepulciano in the old Chianciano area. The area has been known for its rich farmland since ancient times. The landscape includes cypress-lined roads, vineyards and olive groves.

The vineyards are cared for patiently and with great dedication using environmentally friendly methods. The vines are tended by hand, with close respect for nature and tradition.

The company has a new winery, a preserves facility and an olive mill, all fitted with modern equipment. The wines are made with careful attention at every stage. Wine and olive oil are produced, and all products are sold under the Poggio del Moro name.

The estate describes its philosophy as built on respect for tradition, elegance, quality, a love of nature and careful attention to every vineyard and olive grove, with the aim of expressing the spirit of the terroir. The current owners say they do everything they can to express the character of the local terroir and, through it, their own feelings and spirit.
