Origins
The family's roots trace back to 1837, when the ancestors of the current owners' grandfather, Tumlin (Bartolomeo Povero), first established their connection to the land.
1948 – First vineyard planted
Tumlin (Bartolomeo Povero), grandfather of the current owners, planted his first vineyard, feeling a strong connection to his ancestors.
1964 – First bottled wine
The brothers Michelino and Giovanni bottled their first wine.
1976 – New winery
A new winery began operating, and the family decided to expand its vineyards.
Today
Cantine Povero is run by the next generation of the Povero family: Romano and Luca handle sales, Daniele oversees the vineyards, and Margherita and Alessio handle administration and winemaking.
