Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Gmajne vineyard in Oslavia, where the vines grow on sandy marl soils low in organic matter.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo 12 hours of skin contact. Fermentation takes place partly in oak barriques (40%) and partly in stainless-steel tanks (60%).
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for eight months, followed by a further six months in bottle.
Label / history
“Gmajne” is a name of German origin meaning “property of the church community.” The vineyard appears to have once belonged to the church.
