Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow among the gently rolling hills of Collio, where the microclimate is influenced by the Julian Alps and the Adriatic Sea. The vines are 10–50 years old and planted in the distinctive soil known as “ponca.”
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into crates, gently pressed in a pneumatic press and briefly macerated on the skins at low temperature. After cold settling, the must ferments in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of approximately 18 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests on its fine lees in steel tanks for six months, followed by a short period in bottle.
