Vineyard and terroir

The production area is Greve in Chianti, Tuscany. Vineyards occupy steep slopes in the hilly heart of Chianti. Sandy soils, cool nights and a long growing season encourage aromatic finesse and elegance.

Grapes

90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Vinification

The grapes are delicately crushed. The must remains on the skins for one to two weeks to extract colour and polyphenolic compounds.

Ageing

Nine months in a combination of small and large barrels.

Tasting profile

Deep ruby red. Aromas of ripe cherries and red plums are layered with subtle toasted-vanilla and violet notes. The palate is firmly structured, with bright acidity and a pleasantly savoury finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18°C. Pair with rich creamy pasta dishes, stuffed roasted game hens, barbecued chorizo or other sausages.
