Storia
Early 20th century
The Rossetti family’s wine business began in the early 1900s under its founder, Sabatino Rossetti.
Expansion under Antonio and Giovacchino
The company grew under Sabatino’s sons, Antonio and Giovacchino Rossetti. Their experience subsequently provided the foundation on which the next generation developed the winery.
The third generation and modernization
Between the mid-1970s and the 1980s, siblings Tino and Linda Rossetti entered the company as its third generation. Building on their parents’ experience, they invested in modernizing the winery and researching improved vinification techniques.
Over the following years, the company developed substantial expertise based on detailed knowledge of Tuscan viticulture and the characteristics of the region’s different terroirs. This technical knowledge was supported by a well-equipped cellar and advanced bottling technology.
2017: entry into Fantini Group
Tenute Rossetti became part of Fantini Group in 2017. Operational management remained in the hands of the Rossetti family, while the group assumed responsibility for technical supervision, marketing and sales.
The partnership brought changes to both the presentation and technical direction of the wines. Filippo Baccalaro joined the established Rossetti technical team as oenological supervisor. His arrival introduced the approach described within the group as the “Fantini style,” centered on clean expression, emphasis on the characteristic fruit of the source varieties, balance and elegance.
Governance within the group
By the end of 2023, Tino Rossetti served as president of Tenute Rossetti S.r.l., with Valentino Sciotti and Carlo Piretti serving as board members. The subsidiary operated under the direction and coordination of Fantini Group’s parent company.
Terroir
Tenute Rossetti is based at Cerreto Guidi in Tuscany, in the heart of the Chianti area. Its setting is a rolling Tuscan landscape of extensive vineyard rows and characteristic cypress trees.
The winery’s technical development has been grounded in detailed knowledge of Tuscan viticulture and the distinctions among the region’s different terroirs. Its principal areas of activity include Chianti, Chianti Classico and Toscana Rosso.
Vinificazione
The production operation combines a well-equipped cellar with advanced bottling technology. Modernization and research into improved vinification techniques became priorities when third-generation siblings Tino and Linda Rossetti entered the business between the mid-1970s and the 1980s.
Following Tenute Rossetti’s integration into Fantini Group in 2017, the Rossetti family continued to manage winery operations. Fantini Group assumed technical supervision as well as marketing and sales. The collaboration changed both the presentation and technical direction of the wines.
Filippo Baccalaro joined the existing technical team as oenological supervisor. The resulting production approach emphasizes clean expression, the fruit character associated with the source varieties, balance and elegance.
Filosofia
Tenute Rossetti’s approach combines the experience accumulated by three generations of the Rossetti family with technical research, winery modernization and detailed knowledge of Tuscan viticulture and its different terroirs.
Following the 2017 partnership with Fantini Group, the technical direction came to emphasize cleanly defined wines, clear expression of the fruit associated with their source varieties, balance and elegance. This approach is paired with continued operational management by the Rossetti family and centralized technical supervision by the group.
