Vineyard and terroir
The approximately one-hectare vineyard lies in the heart of the Fittà U.G.A., close to the hamlet of the same name. Portions face south and east at 255 metres, with gradients ranging from 15% to 45%. Garganega vines planted in the early 1940s grow in volcanic soil over a substrate of strongly altered basaltic vulcanite. This historic site, planted by the family’s grandparents, is sheltered from adverse weather and receives abundant sunlight.
Grapes
100% Garganega.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand into crates in mid-October. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel over 14 days at 15–18 °C. Malolactic fermentation is prevented. The wine receives one membrane filtration before bottling.
Ageing
Twelve months on the fine lees in stainless-steel vats, followed by 24 months in bottle.
