Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Castello Vicchiomaggio in Greve in Chianti. The vineyards stand at 255–265 m on heavy soil containing 30% clay. The vines are trained to single Guyot at a density of 5,600 vines per hectare.

Sangiovese.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats, with 8–10 days of skin contact.
Ageing
The wine matures for eight months in large oak barrels holding 25 or 50 hl.
Tasting profile
Bright ruby red. The concentrated aroma combines black cherry, iris, cinnamon and a suggestion of rosemary. Crisp freshness and well-integrated tannins give the medium-bodied palate a lively character. Orange and herb flavours mark the finish.

Pair with pasta served with meat sauce or barbecue dishes.
