Chi è
Villa Vallemaggiore is a winery in Tuscany, Italy.
History, winemaking, wines and news for this producer are being prepared. Meanwhile, visit the official website.
Terroir
Villa Vallemaggiore occupies 11 hectares of vineyard land on the Maremma coast, a few kilometres from Grosseto and the sea.
The estate was selected because its coastal climate and soils differ markedly from those at Vicchiomaggio in Chianti. Proximity to the sea brings gentle breezes throughout the year, mild winters and an earlier spring than in the Chianti area.
The soils are predominantly sandy and clay-based. The vineyards lie across gently rolling hills with south, south-east and south-west exposures.
Filosofia
Villa Vallemaggiore was conceived as a coastal counterpart to the family's Chianti property. The choice of the estate was driven specifically by its different climate and soil: maritime breezes, mild winters, an earlier spring, sandy-clay soils and several warm-facing hillside exposures provide a distinct basis for the Vallemaggiore range.
