About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Pinot Grigio grows on hills near Lake Garda at 200–250 metres above sea level. The vineyard faces southwest, and the vines stand in loose, well-drained soils. Their average age is 27 years.
Vinification
The healthy grapes are harvested carefully in the first week of September and pressed as whole bunches. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled 14–15 °C for 8–10 days. Partial malolactic fermentation follows in October.
Ageing
The wine rests 4 months in stainless steel tanks, then a further 2 months in bottle after bottling.

Label / history
Corte Giara is a joint project launched in 1989 by the Allegrini winery and a select group of growers in the Valpolicella wine region. Its aim is to make high-quality wines for everyday drinking, stylish and modern yet true to tradition. Allegrini set out to show that great success was possible without sacrificing centuries-old winemaking traditions. Grapes for Corte Giara wines come from vineyards on the highest and steepest slopes.
