About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Barbaresco production zone covers Barbaresco, Neive, Treiso and San Rocco Seno d’Elvio. Suitable sites are sunlit hills with clay- and limestone-rich soils rather than valley floors, plains or damp ground. The area’s soils include white tufaceous marl mixed with grey-blue marl and thin veins of sand, with abundant limestone and microelements.

Grapes

Nebbiolo.

Vinification

Vinification takes place in stainless steel over 20–25 days. The vineyard yield is 40 hl/ha.

Ageing

The wine matures for 18 months in French oak barriques.

Tasting profile

An intense garnet colour. The dense aroma brings together blackberry, black cherry and plum with slightly withered rose and violet petals and spice. The palate is warm, elegant and enveloping, with sustained flavour, echoes of the aromatic profile and a cocoa nuance.
