About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the TreVenezie region. The land on which they are grown was seabed four million years ago, and ancient fossils can still be found between the vine rows.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and mechanically from late August to early September. After gentle pressing, the must ferments at a controlled temperature of 13–18 °C to retain fruity and floral aromas and freshness.
Ageing
The wine rests on its fine lees for two months in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting profile
The aroma has fruity and floral notes shaped by the TreVenezie region. The palate is fresh.
Label / history
The label bears Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. The collection associates the drawing with Leonardo’s strength, modern outlook and inclination to look toward the future.
Cantina Leonardo da Vinci was founded in 1961 by 30 small wineries that joined together to share their winemaking interests and the cost of building a large cellar. Their vineyards then covered 70 hectares; after considerable growth over the following 50 years, they covered approximately 750 hectares. At the end of the 20th century, the cooperative acquired Fattoria Montalbano and Cantina di Montalcino.
The DalleVigne organization was established in 2002 to market Cantina Leonardo da Vinci’s products and distribute them to the HoReCa sector in more than 50 countries. It later became part of Caviro, a cooperative founded in 1966 by independent wine producers. Caviro comprises 34 independent wine estates and more than 13,000 vineyards. Its average annual production is approximately 500 million litres, of which more than 200 million litres are exported.
