About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyard lies at 300 m above sea level and yields 80 quintals per hectare.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese.

Vinification

Alcoholic fermentation is followed by a brief maceration. The vinification period is 20–25 days. This short extraction is intended to produce delicate tannins, emphasize softness and retain the fresh aromas associated with a youthful wine.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12–18 months in French and Slavonian oak casks, followed by 4 months in bottle. It is released from 1 September of the year following the harvest.

Technical data

Alcohol varies according to the vintage. Annual production is approximately 50,000 bottles, offered in a 0.75 L format.

Tasting profile

Light ruby red. The nose shows forest berries and plum. Balanced and persistent on the palate, with delicate tannins and flavours of mushroom and liquorice. The overall style is fresh, soft and elegant.

Serving and pairing

Pair with red meats, lamb and cured meats.
