About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are organically grown in the hills of Abruzzo, where sea breezes and the nearby mountains shape the growing conditions. Collefrisio farms 35 ha across three vineyards without chemical treatments.

Tenuta Valle del Moro occupies 12 ha in the Moro Valley, between the Majella mountain range and the coast. Its Montepulciano grows in well-drained, stony limestone soils. Tenuta Morrecine covers 12 ha on stony soils between the hills of Ortona and Tollo, overlooking the sea. Tenuta Giuliano Teatino comprises 11 ha on the slopes of the Majella mountain range, near the Venna River valley, where Montepulciano grows in red clay soils.

Vinification

Harvest begins only when the fruit is fully ripe. The Montepulciano is picked late, in mid-October, with the grapes fully ripe and healthy.

Ageing

The wine is made without oak ageing, preserving a fresh, clear expression of the variety.

Tasting profile

Juicy fruit and soft tannins give the wine an easy-drinking character. Its varietal profile is clear and fresh.
