About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from selected plots of old, low-yielding vines. Collefrisio’s vineyards are influenced by sea breezes and the nearby mountains, and the estate farms without chemical treatments.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in late October at full ripeness. Extended skin contact is used to extract aroma and flavour, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine spends 24 months in French oak barriques and a further 12 months in bottle in the winery’s cellars. The 2011 vintage was expected to peak between 2016 and 2026.
