About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Dolcetto grows in some of the finest vineyards in the commune of Novello, at 380 metres above sea level. Elvio Cogno also makes wines from Ravera, one of Novello's notable crus.

Tasting profile

Intense yet fruit-forward. Flavours of ripe red cherry, plum and cinnamon sit alongside aromas of pine and new leather.

Vintage notes

The 2016 has a particularly juicy, fruity style and was expected to be at its most enjoyable through 2021.

Label / history

The Cogno family has made wine for four generations, passing its traditions from father to son while staying true to the region's style. The estate works with only a few local varieties: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nascetta. The wines are made in a historic winery equipped with modern technology, and careful vineyard management plays an important part in their quality.
