About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from approximately 3 ha of vineyards distributed among La Morra, Barolo and Castiglione Falletto. The sites were planted between 1980 and 1990.
Soil composition varies by municipality. The soils in Barolo and Castiglione Falletto are sandy, with differing degrees of compaction, and alternate with sandstone. In La Morra, they contain more clay and a calcareous component.
Grapes
100% Nebbiolo da Barolo.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place on the skins for 25–30 days in temperature-controlled cement or stainless-steel tanks. After racking, the individual lots are blended before maturation.
Ageing
The assembled wine matures for approximately three years in large 5,000 L Slavonian oak casks. Refinement continues in bottle, allowing the wine to develop greater elegance and harmony. It is intended for long-term ageing.
Tasting profile
The aroma is ethereal, broad and enveloping. The palate is austere and savoury.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–17 °C.
Formats
Available in 0.75 L bottles.
