About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from a 2-hectare holding in Brunate, a historic inter-municipal cru extending across Barolo and La Morra. The central part of the subzone lies between 250 and 350 metres above sea level, with south- and southeast-facing exposure. The vines were planted from 1979 to 1981.
The soil is predominantly composed of silt and clay, with relatively little sand. These conditions contribute an elegant aromatic profile marked by fruit and spice.
Grapes
100% Nebbiolo da Barolo.
Vinification
Fermentation lasts 25–30 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks equipped with automatic pump-over systems.
Ageing
The wine matures for at least three years in large 5,000-litre Slavonian oak casks.
Tasting profile
The bouquet is elegant, with fruity and spicy notes. The palate is dry, austere, savoury and harmonious. It has a good concentration of phenolic compounds, associated with significant levels of microelements including potassium and magnesium.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–17 °C. Available formats are 375 mL half bottles, 750 mL bottles and 1.5 L magnums.
