About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Villero cru is located in Castiglione Falletto, on a hilly ridge running through the heart of the area. Its soils consist of limestone and clay, contributing broad, layered aromas and enveloping tannins.
Vinification
The wine undergoes extended maceration without a fixed timetable, followed by spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts.
Ageing
Maturation comprises 6 months in stainless-steel tanks and 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by further ageing in bottle.
Tasting profile
The aroma is broad, layered, complex and intriguing. Enveloping tannins underpin the wine, while the palate has an unpredictable, charming character.
Serving and pairing
Open several hours before serving and decant.
