About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the Santo Stefano di Perno vineyard in the commune of Monforte d’Alba, Piedmont. The site lies at 300 m above sea level and faces west and southwest. Its clay-sand soils comprise brown clay and grey sand of marine origin.

Vinification

The grapes are usually harvested by hand during the final ten days of September and carefully selected. Traditional red-wine fermentation takes place in contact with the skins under constant temperature control.

Ageing

The wine matures in previously used large Slavonian oak casks.
