About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo comes from a Castelletto vineyard planted in 1948 in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. It lies at 300–380 m with a south-east exposure. The calcareous-marly soil is dominated by sand and silt.
Castelletto is a cool hill site whose sunlight moves from east to south. Nearby woodland and a small river moderate the setting, encouraging slow vine growth and wines described as medium-bodied, elegant and flavourful.
Grapes
100% Nebbiolo.
Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks. Submerged-cap maceration lasts 90 days, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures in barrels after malolactic fermentation.
